EDEN CAMP

Eden Camp Museum is a World War 2 related museum near Malton North Yorkshire England, in a former Prisoner of War Camp of 33 huts. It was built by Italian POWs in 1942, but mainly German POWs lived there. After the war ended it is said that two thirds of the prisoners decided to stay in England. One of the huts is dedicated to the story of the prisoners. Set in the buildings and grounds of the POW camp ,using he huts the story of WW2 is told, very interestingly. This is a family owned attraction of over 30 years, and as won awards. Other conflicts are included in this educational museum.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Around the area in places, music and songs from the War Time.--A post war PreFab is on show.--One of the huts is a Music Hall.--- The Chapel of Remembrance is in Hut 29. --- In the camp is a shop, Bar, and Canteen.. I had Beef Stew and Dumpling with chips, the staff were very friendly.----I was interested in the V1 rocket close too., The V1 was a flying bomb, a bomb with wings. Londoners called it The Doodle Bug. Thousands launched on London in June 1944.
